A native of Colorado, Kara McIntire received her Bachelor of Arts in Music at Hastings College in 2011. With the Omaha Conservatory of Music, she taught “Cello Sprouts” a program for young, budding cellists and while working with the Arts For All program in Omaha, she taught violin and piano group classes. Additionally, Kara has instructed general music Classes at Montessori Educational Centers and Kopecky Elementary in Omaha.
Kara started playing piano at 7 years of age, and an interest in violin “sprouted” as she became more and more interested in music. After having played the violin for a couple of years, however, she opted to make the switch to cello as her primary instrument.
New to the Lincoln area, Kara and her husband are excited to begin a new chapter in life and learn more about the good life in the capitol city of Nebraska. Affiliated with the Lincoln Music Teachers Association, Kara loves teaching music and watching her students learn to love and enjoy the power and beauty that music crates. In Kara’s own words: “Music is so much fun, and I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience that joy.”
In her free time, Kara enjoys visiting family in Colorado, trying out new restaurants, cooking, knitting, being with friends and family, taking road trips and caring for her very grumpy kitty named Scout.
