Lincoln Havranek

Contemporary saxophonist Dr. Lincoln Havranek is an advocate for new music. He has been active with many roles and ensembles over the last decade, such as serving as a graduate teaching assistant, participating in the Jazz Festival at USD and performing with a multitude of groups such as Wind Ensembles, Symphonic Bands, Jazz Bands, Quartet Performances and more.
He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Saxophone Performance at the University of Nebraska. He holds a Masters of Music Degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of South Dakota as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Saxophone Performance from Wayne State College.
Dr. Havranek is an active member of the North American Saxophone Alliance and has served as a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Fraternity. Additionally, he joined the Golden Key International Honor Fraternity in 2014 and was named the “Outstanding Applied Music Student” in 2011.
His wife, Kimberly, is a personal trainer and fitness instructor. Some of Lincoln’s hobbies include listening to new music, spending time outdoors, participating in physical fitness activities, traveling and of course…practicing his saxophone!
Lauren thoroughly enjoys her weekly lesson with Lincoln. Her and Lincoln get along very well and Lauren always has such positive things to say about her lessons with him. Lincoln is a really good fit for Lauren.
