Vicki began Harris Academy of the Arts (formerly Harris Music Studio) in 2004, with experience in teaching music since 1984. Vicki’s dedication to music appreciation, proper technique, and succeeding through practice and passion is what sets the foundation for healthy growth and a high reputation for what is now Harris Academy of the Arts. Vicki brings passion, a “never give up attitude” and creativity to Harris, while championing a positive, upbeat and fun attitude for her students and staff.

In addition to being the founder, Vicki is an active participant in the Harris mission, serving as an instructor, administrator, advisor, mentor and friend. With quality music education as the number-one goal, Vicki strives to make a difference in people’s lives, not only through music, but in the way they choose to live. She is honored and feels privileged to work daily with the students of Harris and be surrounded by quality educators who share the same love of music.

Vicki’s most life-changing experience was her role as Miss Nebraska, allowing her to go to college with the scholarships received. As a graduate of Kansas State University, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a minor in Women’s Studies.  Vicki loves sky diving, traveling, storm-watching and eating Indian food with family and friends.
